Well worth the $35. I bought mine for fun. Wanted to just paint a pic on it, but then I decided I might actually want to learn how to play the ukulele now.

Only issue I had was the glue wasn't as strong as I would have liked. It was all good though. I had plenty of my own supplies to ensure the parts and pieces stayed in place. Even upgraded the strings with some of my own real guitar strings.

Was fun to paint and put together. Now I just have to learn how to play it.

My son and I enjoyed putting this together and it wasn’t difficult to put together. In saying that, why in the world would school glue be used to attach certain pieces? The nut came off before we even got to attaching the strings and the fretboard started popping off within 5 minutes of my son playing it. This was all with me using clamps and letting it sit overnight with each application of glue. Very disappointing because the kit itself is well made otherwise and an enjoyment for my son to play as well as help put together. The fretboard came off a second time after about 3 hours of use. I am going to try and reattach with superglue the best I can and hope it stays together. Also, I am super nervous that the neck/headstock piece will eventually pop off since that also is attached with a peg and school glue. There’s got to be a way to make this better. Please consider these points as this really is a great gateway musical instrument for a child.

soprano size,, will need to know how to put together, otherwise it will be wall art,, the tuning needs to be spot on open strings and 10th fret,, I was disappointed it was soprano size,, the picture to me looks like a concert,, I own 30 ukulele, several guitars, and have made several cigar box guitars,..

Finished product is nice. Hard to put together - parts slightly misshapen, no pre-drilled holes, glue was terrible. Directions were absolutely terrible - missing steps, unclear instructions, limited illustrations. We found a video online to help us, and still found the assembly extremely challenging. My kids are 11 and 14 and definitely needed help.
