I bought 2 of these, one to give as a gift. There are no instructions that come with the item, which would have been useful, as the recipient is over 75 years old. Secondly, one of the 2 openers has some chrome missing on the interior of the opening, which looks like a manufacturing defect. Still the item seems solid & sturdy. Haven't used it yet, but intend to, the next time I get pickles in a glass jar, which seem to be always difficult to open.
